improving playground safety
knowledge, understanding, and accountability!
SAFE AT PLAY
It’s now that time —time to announce the winners of our 3rd Playground Safety Poster Contest! Due to COVID-19 shelter-in-place and stay-at-home orders, awards will be distributed at a later date.
Each year more than 200,000 children in the United States are injured while playing at playgrounds, for an average of one playground-related emergency room visit every 2.5 minutes. Safe At Play will hold this annual art contest to increase awareness of playground safety in elementary schools. The resulting calendar, featuring the winning artwork, will help to remind us every day how important it is for us to keep children S.A.F.E. at play. Unfortunately, due to an insufficient amount of entries, we will not be able to produce a 2020-2021 playground safety calendar.
Thank you to all the students and schools that participated in this year’s contest, and congratulations to all of our winners!
